This meeting began with an orientation to get lost in
“value of the organization”, from President Jim Dawson
He told us how the leadership is under new management
By creating value…
Because you’ve got the goods and NSA Georgia will show you how to handle it
You’ll need great study habits
& you just might have it
But what else are you willing to do to get there, How are you investing?
Did you factor in those numbers that Jim gave you,
Did you find the answer interesting?
Maybe you’re not maximizing your talent,
But you could be, if like Dan Thurman, you start living Off Balance
And then involve yourself with those three steps,
PLAN, PERFORM and PROCESS
And to ensure that your story is not bored, CREATE A STORY BOARD
That STEPS UP
As we heard from Daniel Grissom,
Who spoke of a mother’s love and wisdom
And how he’s kept up
Life first, then business… don’t get the order mixed up
And as life goes up and down,
So things can
So Waldo Waldman encourages us to keep a wingman
And to lift our leaders
By quality and ACCOUNTABILITY between us
We all start down here, with hopes to never falter
According to CSP and this months featured speaker, Brian Walters
Most people fail to get through because they cannot answer the question,
“WHAT DO YOU DO?”
And that crap is FACT!
So he encourages us to develop an ELEVATOR SPEECH SYSTEM
You have to do more than just get people to hear you,
They’ve got to want to listen
PROGRESSIVELY REVEALED CONVERSATIONAL ANSWERS,
If you want that gig, this will give you a chance to
Verbal Ping-Pong, in case you miss it,
It is not contingent on your business accruement or ”AMBIGUSPEAK”,
It’s about your specifics
You have to be fascinated by YOURSELF
OR ELSE!
WOW, HOW & NOW is where it all starts
And it is not all that hard,
According to CEO of the Human Capitol Initiative, Ed Chaffin,
If you just “Play your part!”
And we also learned from Jim today,
PAY YOUR PART!
News you can use, SO PAY YOUR DUES!!

From Jim Dawson,
President NSA Georgia |
Brian Walter gave us a great demonstration on what an “Elevator Speech” really is. Common perception says you have from 15 to 45 seconds to give your elevator speech; the reality is you only have from 3 to 4 seconds. If you were not there, seek out an NSA Georgia friend who was and then ask them about it.
Now let’s review the afternoon session. WOW! Brian shared with us lots of techniques we can use to get great participation in our presentations, speeches and facilitation. Even better, he actually showed us how to do it!

From Wendy Kinney,
President Elect,
NSA Georgia |
Both sessions were outstanding, Brian shared both content and humor, and his tools in both sessions were 10 times more valuable than what I paid for NSA membership for the year.
All it takes for me to get that value is to use them.
I already used one of the afternoon techniques Monday, and am prepared to implement a second tomorrow. Just got a call today which will let me use his Chunking and Proposal strategies.
